Welcome to the new Eastern Counties blog!

January 18th, 2010

Welcome to this new blog for former employees and enthusiasts of the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company to share their views, stories, memories, anecdotes and exploits.

Example threads could include -

How did Eastern Counties and its staff cope during the long hard winters of 1947 and 1963 and during the infamous  east coast floods of 1953?

Life as an outstation driver ……. Were you outstationed at Sea Palling in 1952/53 and perhaps helped in the major rescue effort?

Were you the recipient of a safe driving and/or long service award?  …..  How long did you work for the company, at which depots/outstations and in what capacity?

Do you attend the annual re-unions  of former ECOC staff held at the Woolpack, Golden Ball Street, Norwich organised by former ECOC Norwich driver, Dennis Hartree?

The next reunion is to be held on Friday, 13th August 2010 from 3pm to 6.30pm.

I look forward to hearing from you all……

Happy blogging!
