Schedule of Peterborough City stage carriage routes - pre NBC . . .

This schedule details the network of stage carriage bus routes operated in the city of Peterborough from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s by the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company.  Each route is shown in street by street detail.

The majority of these routes were inherited from the Peterborough Electric Traction Company Ltd in July 1931.

SERVICE: 301

FROM:  WALTON ( MARHOLM ROAD )

TO:  WOODSTON (CELTA MILLS)

DOUBLE DECK OPERATED

Outward route:  via Lincoln Road, Boroughbury, Westgate, Long Causeway, Bridge Street, London Road, Oundle Road, New Road, Orton Avenue and Belsize Avenue, to terminate at Woodston (Celta Mills).

TO:  NEWARK ( OXNEY ROAD or PERKINS ENGINES WORKS)

Outward route:  via Grange Road, Mayor’s Walk, Midland Road, Cowgate, Church Street, Long Causeway, Midgate, New Road and Eastfield Road, to terminate at Newark (Oxney Road) or Perkins Engines Works.

Outward route:  via Elmfield Road, Garton End Road, Dogsthorpe Road, Lincoln Road, Boroughbury, Westgate, Long Causeway, Bridge Street, New Viaduct, Fletton Avenue, High Street, Church Street, Mount Pleasant, North Street, Daffodil Grove, Thistle Drive and Rose Avenue, to terminate at Stanground (Chapel Street).
